Leveling Hanzo Bow

Post by Scoffer »

So i recently managed to get hold of Leveling Hanzo Bow and was wondering what would be the best stats to add to it.

Its currently Level 21 and has the following stats

Ninjitsu +10
Damage Increase 50%
Hit Life Leech 40%
Hit Mana Leech 5%
Self Repair 5
Swing Speed Increase 15%

Durability is 255

I kinda like the idea of trying to max swing speed increase (faster kills = less chance of me being hit)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Levelling a weapons is a personally journey. Keep in mind what kind of fighting you are going to be doing and build accordingly. I commend you on your choice of Hanzo’s Bow, it was my choice as well and is a popular selection amoung players here.

There is great thread here on the forums about levelling weapons with lots of great info on it.

Also be sure to checkout http://uo.stratics.com/ for information on Magical Item Properties, the information is invaluable.

Just a note about my personal opinion in regards to your question. There is a cap at how fast you can swing/shoot. I use the Headband of Power as it is a cheap item of great power, among other bonus’it has +30 SSI which with 100 Dex on your character and the +15 SSI you already have on your bow, I’m sure that would max out your Swing/shoot speed. The first thing I added to my bow was :Lightening damage and then Fire. Avoid AOF damage. After that, +STR +Hit Points +Dex are nice things to have. This is just what I like, but remember it’s a Personal Journey. Have fun levelling your weapon mate.

I’m at work right now so I don’t know the full stats. I think it has like +8 STR and more to it thu. It’s very good. They normally sell for 25k on Player vendors. I’ve seen them as high as 75k thu. If I remember I saw one at E’Walker’s shop (take house gate) for only 15k! Go grab it.

I found a great calculator on the UO Stratics website here:
http://uo.stratics.com/content/arms-armor/combat.php

According to this calculator, Hanzo's swings once every 4.25 sec with no modifiers and 100 STA.

At 60% SSI (the cap) this goes down to 2.50 sec. Even with 150 STA the swing rate is 2.25 sec so as far as I can tell that is the theoretical limit on swing speed for Hanzo's.

Also after having done a few calculations it looks like no attributes come close to increasing the potential damage from maxxing swing speed. So lightning and fireball are cool but as far as priority for causing damage the points are better spent on SSI.

I got it by completing the quest in the Yomotsu Mines.

I personally am a huge (like massive super duper huge) fan of mana leech,

with it at around 40-50% u can nearly constantly heal pets or use armor ignore, mana is no longer an issue, freeing up the use of non-medable gear for example.

My priority list right now goes

1. Manaleech (to 30-40%)
2. SSI (to 25-30%)
3. Dex/Stam (capped)
4. Str/hits (capped)
5 + 6. Hit Lightning, then Ball. (however far it can go, im not sure it is reachable)

.. Some people opt for FCR on their wep's i myself dont mind too much about it, i intend to cap that with jewely ect. And given my love for manaleech, i dont need MR either. :)

As one of the first poster's said, its entirely up to your play style. :)
