Question about faster cast and protection interaction

In short I'm wondering how a faster casting of over 4 and the spell protection would interaction. For example I know if you use lich form which gives -10% fire resist and you have 85% fire resist from your equipment your fire resist will still stay at 70% the cap. Would faster cast work the same way, if I had 6 faster cast from equipment and used protection would it still allow me to have the cap of 4 faster cast?

The Protection spell reduces your max FC, not your total FC. So, since everyone's FC is maxed at 4, it will be reduced to 2 while Protection is on. Doesn't matter if you have 50 FC from bonuses...sadly
