You may have noticed some strange things going on at brit bank, as well as some thing at excelsior halls missing. We are now publishing the first true patch, called patch A.
How to get it?
UOGateway users
1. Close all UO clients
2. Remove our shard from your serverlist
3. Add our shard again from the public serverlist
4. Connect and wait for the patch to download - approx 6.3 MB

Non-UOgateway users
1. Close all UO clients
2. Download our manual patch, from this url, approx 5.4 MB:

3. Go to your Ultima Online directory, and create backup copies of:
- staidx0.mul
- statics0.mul
4. Copy the contents of the .rar archive to your UO folder, rewriting the current files (with you having backups, it isnt much work to get it back to it's original shape)
Note that this manual patch only gives you statics for trammel/felucca, aka buildings. UOgateway users also get:
- nicer paperdoll graphics
- better spell icons
- ability to see custom mounts
- ability to see some custom items
Therefor, we recommend you use UOGateway (not trying to sell anything, but it gives you more features).

- New Login Screen
- Bushido/Ninjitsu and special abilities spell icons now like the 1st-8th circle spell icons.

After applying the new patch, UO won't load. The client keeps Not Responding. A different server that I have tested out runs fine and yet Excelsior will not. Any suggestions?
I had Katijay log in under my character to renew the stable time on my biopet. I still can't get UO to do anything but crash when I try connecting to Excelsior.
Edit: After uninstalling EVERYTHING and starting over, I'm able to connect.

Strange, it worked fine for me.
There's been a mixup and we forgot to put in a file correction for custom ridables.
This Applies to UO Gateway users only - You need to re-patch (remove our server from your list and add us again, follow the above procedure).
After that, you will be able to see the ridables.

Ok i am not trying to be a you-know-what about this, but.. it is still not working.. I mean, all I did was remove the server from my server list and add it back.. and i get this kind of crap? I dont get it.. is Ultima Online client so unstable that drastic problems can happen from just removing it from your server list? I dont get it.. I even went back and re downloaded the 5.0.1j from this site, and still.. keeps crashing my computer and becoming non responsive (both UOGateway and/or UO).. I even reinstalled UOGateway.. I dont get it.. I hope someone reads this soon, so i can get back online. I shouldnt have even changed anything. I mean, I think after these problems, i would have rathered just not been able to see ridable drakes..
OK, i completely give up.. I reinstalled UO, patched it up to 5.0.1j, so it is perfectly patched, reinstalled UOgateway, EVERYTHING is exactly how it should be and NOTHING is working.. everytime i try to pull up Excelsior, UO is not responding.. I can pull up any other shard on the public list.. So, i give up..
I assume that by not responding you mean uog and uo hangs up. No errors show up and any other info right ?

Well you could try using PlayUO, its alternative uo client. Menus looks crapy and there are few glitches but it is WAY less crashable than basic client. As far as i rember you can find it on runuo page. Just run it and connect to what Harabakc said.

Start with my computer freshly rebooted... then, i pull up UOGateway. I would then, add Excelsior to My Server List and then allow it to patch. At the end of the patch, nothing happens.. and if you cntrl + alt + del , then it says that UOGateway is (not responding)
When that happened, I uninstalled UOGateway and reinstalled it. Also, I reinstalled UO and only allowed it to patch to 5.0.1j, then disconnected the patching so it wouldnt go higher. THEN as a back up, I even used this website to download the 5.0.1j RAR after I tried logging in again, and again, it didnt work.
The only other thing I can do, which i am sure will not work, is to reinstall UO again, then not patch at all, and only download the 5.0.1j from this site.. but that leaves SO MUCH unpatched up to that point, I doubt it would work.
If anyone knows how to walk me through this, or knows how to fix this, OR if you had this problem and were able to fix it, then respond here, and maybe we can stay in touch Via a chat method while i attempt to get this working.

OK so here is the latest.. I uninstalled and reinstalled UO AGAIN... and didnt patch anything.. just got the 5.0.1j from this page to update the client..
So now, I have a new problem.
UOGateway WILL attempt to open the Client, EXCEPT, i get the following while i am waiting for the client to load, OR, after i put in my username and password:

OK, so i did exactly what you said. I made a backup of that file, then i deleted the contents which was:

so i changed it to read what you told me.. AND, it still will not connect.. It will bring up the client page to sign in, but then when "connecting" it becomes non responsive. I even downloaded razor and tried using that. Same thing, becomes non responsive.
BTW, if this shard recommends not patching with UO patch then, how are you ever supposed to get patched?
Right now, I have a client that, when installed, was version like 4.0.4 and then i used the 5.0.1j patch from here. But, isnt there a lot of stuff in between that i need?
I did try yesterday to both patch with UO Patch up to 5.0.1j, AND also patch fully then downgrade. BOTH scenarios brought same results. Non responsive UOGateway and/or UO Client.
I still cannot believe all this mess happened just by removing excelsior from the server list and adding it back.
BTW, the version of UO that i install everytime is the SE, just a tid bit of info that might be important.
