The Approaching Shadow: The Beast's Last Stand (9th Entry)

Bloodied and mangled, the beast stood to attention as the dark lord, Bael’Nefario, approached…

“You have served me well you wreched thing, and I will surely resurrect you when the time comes I need you again. But you need to prove your worth to me during your end. You are to sacrifice yourself to destroy all that come and interrupt my fortification of this ruin.”

The beast roars, producing a spray of its own blood and flesh into the air…

“I thought that keeping this place a secret would be enough, but Excelsior’s scouts have prooved to be an annoying asset of their’s. I will need as much time as you can give me to fortify the doorway to Pandæmonium, so we can be the lone controllers of the opening to this world…not that they would have a chance in my labyrinth…”

After placing his hand on the beast’s head, the Umbris Battle Horn was sound. All the soldiers in the ruins gathered their weapons and threw their armor on while they ran to their posts…

“They are here…” muttered the dark lord…

“The time is now. Take out as many Excelsior warriors as you can…make me proud.”

The dark lord then turned around and raised his hands. The ground shook, and out from the lava-filled fisures rose two shadow casters. As soon as they activated, reptilian monsters of shadow walked through the gateway and surrounded the Jabberwocky. Sitting idley…they waited for orders from the frail, but determined dragon…
