Crafting Cape.Something Fishy ...

Has anyone ever heard of a crafting cape that gave + 30 to most crafting skills? Apparently it was an event reward from a few weeks ago ...

Im asking because here is what happened , some new player that i wont name right now . Had one for sell last night , said he didnt knew if the cape would put me above the cap limit of 120 .So i asked him to try it on first.. Said it was kind of risky to simply hand it to me to try it on .So he asked for 1 milion for it . So i hand him 1 milion but being specific that if it didnt work that i'd ask for a refund right away . So i try it on and it doesnt work and stays there. Before i even have the time to ask for my refund the guy logs out and within 5 to 10 seconds of is log out the cape vanished into thin air poof !! gone !! . So when he logged back in try to talk to the guy politetly to get a refund all he could say was a deal is a deal no refund !

Weirdest thing is that no one seems to have heard about this cape . Asked to alot of people , including +Jade and +Chaos and got the same answer.

Its now in the hands of Colibri so we'll see what happens but im asking again if its an event reward someone else must of heard of it ?

yeah i haven't heard about it or else i'd want one too. i think that type of bogus things should be a ban-able offense. or at least a refund and 2 weeks jail at the least, plus deletion of all gold and items of the offender.

Event cloaks that often have god like abilities that sometimes accompany events always disappear shortly after then event. Although it is shady for a player sell such an item, and I would never attempt to sell one. I do believe in the buyer beware policy. I often see people selling these items after events and laugh to myself at who would actually buy one...

On the refund, again shady to double cross, but if I was making that deal, i really wouldn't expect a refund. It's not wal-mart.

On a side not, it only goes above cap if it says "Bonus" beside the skill.

I believe the rules here are very, um, parental is maybe a good way to say it, so many you'll get your money back, time will tell.

Im well aware that items disappear shortly after the events.. but last night there wasnt any event , even less one that gave such an item and the guy claimed he had it for some time now. Its only when i had a meeting with a GM and the other person that i found out that he was 11 days old.

As for the refund part this is a family shard where most players are honest,behave well and have good manners never had this type of problem with anyone. Plus if im about to make a trade with someone but before doing it im being specific about gettting a refund for the item , i expect the other person to hold is end of the deal . Specially since he didnt had the skills to confirm if it would put me above the cap limit or not . I was pretty much testing that for the 2 of us .

That being said its not just about the money here .. but more importantly no one has ever heard of this item and its suspicious to me that the item vanished 5 to 10 seconds after the guy logged out .

Its my opinion that the guy was well aware of what he was doing and i can only hope that if it was bogus that Anarchy's idea will be applied .

Hmm that does sound extra fishy.

Maybe I'm a little jaded, but one thing you can rely on is for strangers to be jerks. Sad but true, family shard or no.
