Deco Ideas
Re: Deco Ideas
Well you could put in any of the anniversary gifts, we already have the heart of the home fireplace, but could implement more,
-the whispering rose,
-the tapestry of sosaria
-a tiki island statue,
-blood tiles,
-barrels,
-evil home deco series,
-Dawns music box.
Here is a link to existing deco up to the 9th anniversary!

Re: Deco Ideas
I'm big on deco - maybe you shouldn't have said anything. LOL
I want the druid deco things that someone made for Carpentry BOD rewards several months ago that were never implemented. They included the old style "Soul Stone."
Also the little fountains that are outside TC, near the mage armor models.
I'd love to see something like a yard deco that incorporates flowering cherry tree, hedging, flowers, nice marble benches and those fountains. Maybe with a couple of the yellow origami butterflies. A little garden retreat.
Something similar was made for auction I believe last year, that went with the cherry trees, and Calan had it. He was going to give it away but I think someone got it. Have seen two in game - one at Georgia's house and the other at one of my game house neighbors. Make a new one a little bit different for the deco room, but in a similar style.
The well that is in TC deco room is awesome. Saving up gold for that one. Well done!
The lamp posts in deco room should be made in different colors besides pink and turquoise. How about jewel tones in blue, purple, green, white?
A big white stone fireplace. You have all the other stone types except marble/white stone. The white wood stove is superb, and I have one.
But would prefer a big tall white stone fireplace and stove also for my kitchen. Not too fond of the "modern" designs of kitchen appliances in TC deco room. But the glass tables and stack cloth shelf are nice.
The brown vanity table in TC deco room needs to have a south facing available. Right now it's only available in E facing.
Being able to make house floors solid black would be cool too, without resorting to use uni-tub or black cloth stacked everywhere.
Tokuno style futon beds.
A waterfall bath that you can actually walk into for a house, sort of like a special hot tub. I made my own waterfall bath that +Jade seemed to really approve. Have since redesigned it to make it a bit smaller. (Ella's House from House Gates, top level - but still in construction mode. Needs more gold, plat rocks and petrified logs to complete design.
)
In OSI, there was an option to take different levels of completed treasure maps that are used to craft one giant wall map. I want that bad.
Please please please please. Both E and S facing. The item is called "Tattered Wall Map."
A "treasure room" deco item. Just the items themselves, and not including ground/floor tiles, so it would fit in any household design. Including jewels, gold piles, silver coin piles, copper coin piles, gold bars, silver bars.
A fisherman's deco item. Including large net, smaller net, anchor, some fish stuck in the nets, and a fishing pole.
Bring in the "male" decorative armor (we already have the pink/female version), hanging weapon displays, hanging bow/arrow display, in both E and S facing.
More cloth tables. I love the green cloth "tea tables" available in grave digging, but they are tiny. We should have longer tables, and in different cloth colors.
Some of these items should be included (IMO) in land treasure chests and SOS chests, to make it more interesting. Right now the only reason to fish is for a slight chance at getting something good, besides a rope. And in land t-map chests, only thing worth looking forward to is a chance at an arty in the top level chest.
If I knew how to create designs in RunUO/Pandora's Box, I could create beaucoup (lots) of stuff for people to vote on and then GMs can implement via deed format. It could save you a lot of time.
Made an attempt already and can't figure out how to combine the different elements together. No tutorial online for it that I can find.

Re: Deco Ideas
Geez Ceara, are you sure you didn't forget anything? If only a small portion of the things you mentioned get implemented, I would have to build a new house just to display them. Then I would have to spend a whole month customizing. That means spending gold and not making any plus ignoring my friends because I'll be too obsessed trying to get it just right.

Re: Deco Ideas
The snow (not treasure, i was mistaken) piles have been done, i've got two at my house as deeds i found during the big house drop. Any gm can pm me in game or here if they want to check it for item id. The tteasure piles are like the one in magencia bank i believe.

Re: Deco Ideas
Lots of great idea so far , here is what I'd like to see :
a Sacrificial Altar,
Guillotine,
Blood Patch,
Bed of Nails ,
a pit of bones , like the one before entering doom,
Bone Throne,
Haunted Mirror.
Oh yeah almost forget ,, a Fountain of blood , exactly the same as Fountain of life but replace the water by blood. I like the darker items

Re: Deco Ideas
Heh, a toilet is a good idea.
LOL Cygnus, I did mention I was big on deco and had lots of ideas. Everyone was duly warned. LOL
I hope not too many deco items go on auction or raffles, because I never win raffles and can never afford the gold at auctions. I really wanted that Valentines shrubbery item and bought a ticket. Can't compete with others who buy 100 tickets.
These items are meant to be a gold sink, and everything for sale in the deco room ends up MORE of a gold sink, versus a single auction purchase, up to 10 mil. When an item is in the deco room, you have the potential to sell much more than 10 mil worth.

Re: Deco Ideas
Yes Ceara that is true, the deco room will make more money then an auction or raffle in the long run. Take the valentine setting for instance. I am not 100% sure because i was away at the end of that raffle but the last i saw it was less then 500 tickets sold on that item. Now take the well I worked on and it has made much more. the reason we place some items in the deco room and others as auction and or raffle is to keep the items rare. they would not be special if any Joe schmo could go out and buy 5 just for fun because he has the gold to spare... but if there are only 2 on the server then how much more is that deco worth to the person who has it. Yes it is not fair to the rest of you but what can we do? it would be like allowing every player to get whatever item they want re-layered for free with max stats in every slot... what would be the point of that? yes its sad but it is necessary.
but believe me when i say that i will try to get some more nice deco items in the deco room. The deco room does need some new things in it to liven it up and i love adding new custom things to the shard

Re: Deco Ideas
While I love to see things in the deco room, I also really value the auctions. Saving up for auctions are one of the last challenges left for me.
Re: Deco Ideas
Very valid arguments Melkor and Chaos. I completely understand.
Yes, some items need to be rare. Like my Jack Sparrow Cutlass and Seahorse statuette.
I'm only requesting that not all new deco be in auctions, and to be fair with the deco room. It echoes in there. LOL
I also humbly suggest again to add some other deco items at random chance in SOS chests and land treasure chests.
For example:
SOS chests - Lvl 1, 2, 3 (1k, 2k, or 3k gold inside). Lvl 3 chests should have a small little deco item at 50% chance, such as a hanging bow/arrow display or weapon display rack. This makes them a little bit rare since Lvl 3 chests don't show up that often. This will increase the amount of people interested in fishing. Because right now the only thing of decent value you can get fishing is an Ancient SOS. So for every 100 or so plain SOS that are fished up, only 1 Ancient appears. Then there are different levels of Ancient SOS (again, according to the amount of gold inside the chest) with a very minute chance of getting either the Cutlass, Pirate Hat, Seahorse, or the dreaded Rope. There are only so many paintings, broken clocks, globes, shells, body parts and skeleton pieces that a person can have. I've trashed hundreds of those items.
Different colored nets should also be included. Each color of net has an increasing difficulty in the amount of sea monsters it spawns, with green net the lowest. Most I ever got from a green net was 2 kraken, 2 water eles and 1 serpent and the only way to make it interesting was to toss out multiple nets, one after the other for constant fighting action. But the majority of the time it only spawns maybe 1-2 water eles, 1 kraken or 1 serpent. What fun it would be to have the highest non-Ancient SOS white net tossed out that spawns 5 of each type of monster. Save those nets up for group fishing expeditions.
In land treasure maps, you get absolutely nothing of important value except in top level maps, where you get a chance at an arty. Otherwise it's the same thing as the Prisoner Camp chests - gold, gems, regs, scrolls, crap armor/weapons. Many people try for the Prisoner Chests to increase their lock picking skill, but I'm guessing 80% of the time, they take the gold and run. They don't even let the poor NPC out of the cage. LOL
The lower level land treasure chests need to have something else inside for fun, like a little deco item. I would say starting at Lvl 3, with a 33% chance at getting a dinky deco item, with increasing value of items in the higher level chests. Rare food (various fruits and other items like chocolate, since the cooking system is pretty much non-existent), a little water bucket, a water filled barrel, a new color mega rare flower seed. Just some examples.
For those that are wild for deco, changes such as these will make it that much more fun.
I hope you will take it all into consideration.

Re: Deco Ideas
Ceara, i understand where you are coming from. Please keep in mind that this thread was started by me for the purpose of getting ideas for new deco items, not what should be done with the deco i produce. I believe you are correct when saying that items should be added to the treasure hunting system to make it a more prevalent activity on the shard but that is not up to me. I do want to say to all those who have provided me with ideas for deco, Thank you very much and keep the great deco ideas coming
