Player video event

Post by anarchy »

ok here's February's upcoming event. make a video of Excelsior. please keep in mind this is a family shard. this can be as simple as a slide show. i hope to get 3 gm's to help as judges, but we all know how busy they can get. if it comes down to it i'll make a poll. (i really hope i don't have to do that, because people will vote for their friends and not what is good). this is a winner take all. there maybe changes to the rules....

top prize: 200 eds.

end of entry: Tuesday the 22nd, as it gives me time to set up a forum poll or it gives the gm's time to vote.

if you wish to make comments on other people's video be considerate: no flames, no complaints, only positive feedback. if i notice that there is trolling of any kind I will NOT put on a march event.

i think you can make a video with razor. then use the window movie maker to add music. dunno though. :) even a power point presentation could work as a video. :) good luck.

You can download a program called fraps and it will be used to record what your screen sees there are also a lot of different tools that can be found on the internet just by some simple googling. Hints: Looks for ones that are activated by hotkeys. Also, if they can record voice prior to having to add things too it then that would be good to.

Have fun!

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

Sorry everyone, I didnt come to see this post for a long time...

Here some tips (maybe a lil late, but better then nothing):

I don't really like Fraps... But some do...
I'm actually using BSR Screen Recorder 5... You can do pretty much what you want with it... It have photo and video... Personal size for record (whole screen, region, etc) and photos gallery.

I also use Windows Movie Maker... But i don't really think its a great one, cause its really limited in functions... I'm currently searching for another one...

So, these are pretty much the tips i can give you :D

Fraps is good but the saved data is huge due to it being raw and uncompressed, but it does hold the quality. I use a combination of Sony Vegas and Adobe After Effects for video comp or editing after WMM just didnt do what I needed so they're worth a look for future vids.

I would have made one if I didnt lag so much and were able to show what the shard has to offer.
