They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and this is something that UO needs. I know this forum is supposed to be closed, but this is such a simple idea and one that would be so easy to implement that I figured I'd post it anyway and see what happens. Basically, I've noticed some need for a book cloning object. There are people who distribute books and have to transcribe each and every one of them, either by hand or by repetitive cut-and-paste. Take for example the FSH guild. They distribute a new player help book, and what would really help with that would be a device that could take the contents of one book and copy it into another. Or how about the recent fiction contest by IKEA? To transcribe each and every book they received must have been a monumental task.
Implementing this idea doesn't sound like something that would be hard to do. Just a simple script that would copy the data of one object into another, and however many lines of code it takes to check to make sure the object being copied to is actually in the player's inventory.
Would you consider doing this? It would make one task in the game a whole lot less monotonous.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Book cloner
Books can be copied, with an inscription tool.
Re: Book cloner
Actually, all you have to do is use the inscription skill from the skill menu, target book 1, then target book 2.
don't even need the tool iirc
