i honestly think we should start holding at least PVM tournements to spice things up a bit.
once a day tournements. or even hourly tournements

like everyone starts at lvl 1. super easy monsters. (so everyone can join in to have some fun)
and after you beat all the monsters your advanced into the next level. ect. ect. and after so long you would start fighting like some bosses or something of that nature
intell you die ofcorse. and who ever get the farthest will win a prize or some thing simple. and ofcorse you would get all you loot from the monsters you killed at the end like in a check or something (or you get a money check or completing a round)
but there need to be some set rules.
like only 50 bandies per round (random number). or something like that.
and as a long time vet i do get bored of just sitting around
and a PVM tourny would be so awesome to test your strength against mobs of monsters. and eventually bosses
it would honestly keep me intrested in this server for years to come

and PVP tournys would be the same concept. set ammount of bandies for each round. 2 players duke it out.
the winner is advanced into the next round. and eventually when a player cant be beat.
he is then the champ and anyone can challenge him to take his rank as champ.
and there can be diffrent kinda of dualing like.

2v2. bow PVP. melee PVP. magery PVP.
Guild Vs. Guild. ect.

idk thats just some ideas floating around my brain.
PVP isent perfect.. but i love the PVM idea


please tell me what you all think about this id love to see it get approved.

I do like the PvM idea a lot, good call on limiting the bandies as well.

For PvP I would say do a few different classes and set up some strong ground rules.

First of all I would say a limited number of bandies as well. Although that is sort of silly because every duel will turn out the same, fight till bandies run out, then the actual fight starts.

For weapon based fights I would put in a class system. Just spitballing but say... Unlimited, use what you want. Then Top tier runic crafted etc. Perhaps based on number of relayers. Not sure, hard to balance weapon pvp because it is very item based.

The area I have the most thoughts on is mage pvp. To be honest I don't really care how you do the classes but there are a few things that need to be in place to insure it is actually a MAGE duel. Here are my thoughts.

No Weapons, wrestling only (specials are allowed)
Mage skills only, no chiv, no healing, no necro, no cleric etc.
I would say poisoning would have to be allowed which is fine, nox mage is an acceptable template.
I think the best gear setup would be either 2/4 or 2/6 casting with Gm armor only.
These should be duels, ie stone wall goes up, no pre casting, start when wall goes down, no leaving duel area.

Hope some of those ideas help, I would LOVE to get some mage duels going on.

Woow :D Loki, this is one of the best idea i heared for PVM/PVP since I'm here!! :dance

I really like those ideas!

But for the tournaments, everyone should creates a new ''special'' char with only base wep and armor... Then he can adventures in the arena and fight against someone else... Because if we take the actual armor and weapons... All middle/low level players will be destroyed by players who have 1,2,3, 250+ relayers (hehehe)... Plus this character could level by earning XP pts when he kills a monster/player... That way, even if you aren't that strong in the ''real'' game, you can be the Champ of the Arena by using some good tactics and earning XP for your gear!!

That would be crazy... But you know. If we want something added we need to code it ourself if we want it to be implemented before 5 years... :P

I agree these 2 ideas are something out of what has become the ordinary on the shard.
the PvM thing sounds like it would be a really, nice addition. Something to do when your not doing the GoC quest..again. I have ventured all thru Ilshenar and noticed there is alot of open area to set up these "levels" so creating different areas would just be more work. Utilize the space we have that's not being used.
The PvP idea would settle some of our players wants, sparring against something with a brain is a little more advanced that something scripted to attacked with no real strategy involved.

what about the gates we walk thru during Events? The one that takes all your gear and places you in a room with nothing but the armour and weapons to choose. Instead of making an alternate character and raising all new skills. No relayers, no special armour, just GM crafted gear and weapons.

So The Idea is Great i think we all agree more is better. Next step is to find out what we as players have to do to help get this process started.
What can we do as players to make this happen?

I'd like to get some gm armor mage duels going. See what the interest level is in that and go from there. I know I sound like a broken record, mage duel mage duel mage duel but it's the easiest to do from a gear, rules and skill (ingame skill not player skill) perspective. See my post above for my suggested rule set for said mage duels.

Actually the mage duel idea could be expanded - one for pure magery (poison included) and another for no-holds-barred magical duke-out: mage, chiv, necro, druid, heck - even ninj and bushi if someone wants to. The second one would hopefully create some creative combinations when it comes to spells from different schools.

The PvM also sounds pretty cool, but again - may be 2 disciplines: naked (ie. everyone uses GM made gear and weapons) which would be about player skill; full-gear (you have what you bring to the fight (limited bandies ofc)) for those who worked hard to get their precious relayers and GoC's and would like to prove themselves.

how about a champ spawn in green acres. where you dclick a stone. no skull dropped or anything, just a spawning area. you could do it this way.
25 completed reward
250k
title change deed

50 completed reward
350k
a 10 bod of your choice (make the type random ie...carp,taming)

75 completed reward
400k
a 15 bod of your choice (make the type random ie...carp,taming)

100 completed reward
500k
a T-shirt that says: "I have way too much free time!"
insert another reward

you get the picture.

problem with pvp here. this shard isn't set up for that type of game play. even mage wars would end up being smite/lightning or something of that. but it does make pots valuable again. no difference in casting from a scroll vs from the spell book (pre-aos pvp). now if there was more of a % of spell fizzling then maybe. also even if it was gm made gear the thing is: it's always going to be unfair. some people have a base stats of 125 hps naked. also, no one wants to pvp much here anyways. i've global challenges.
