Raising dex question

I was wondering if this worked or no. And if not what to do. But for my stats I got 138 str 115 dex and 87 intel. Iam trying to raise my dex to do the instant heal. And trying to raise up my dex before adding jewelry and what not later on. But my question is I was told it worked and it took them like an hour or more before the 1st gain but then after that not so long for gains to continue going up. Anyways they told me to go to the newbie training area on tele pad you go to custom then training room. Anyways they said I can use those training dumbies like using fencing(dagger) and just sit there and macro on it to raise dex on. But no gains after some time now. So dont know if iam able to or not. My theory was I thought maybe since you can only raise your combact up to 70-75 on those dumbies that maybe since iam 100 on each one now, that then macroing on those dumbies wouldn't raise up dex.

Likely, you are at your stat cap. You will have to lower one stat to raise your dex more. Stat gains are at most 1 per 15 minutes.

And yes, it will work in the training room even if your skill only goes to 75 (or if your skill is even more than 75). Your skill must still be set to raise though, if you locked it in your skill gump it won't give you any gains

Well my stats are 340 total. I assume like many shards you can raise all of them to 125. I don't know about here tho. Also I got str and intel locked and dex arrow up. Also Ive tried switching around and unlocked and put the arrow going down on intel and kept the arrow upwards on dex. And the dex gained and intel went down. So is there an cape of 340 on stats?

there is a base 300 stat cap. there are stat cap scrolls from +5 to +50. no idea if you have used any of those
You can raise each stat to 125. There are individual stat cap scrolls of +5 for +25 max total (additive). These do not increase your total stat cap though.

You can see what your stat cap is by opening your status window. Any +stats on gear do not count towards your stat cap

So basically see what your stats are naked, without any gear. Compare it to the little number on the status gump next to an open book icon (it's your stat cap). If you're at 300 (sometimes 299 for some reason) you need to set one of the stats (preferably int) to lower (click the little arrow next to the stat). Also - you assume wrong - you can get to max 125/125/50 (no scrolls) or 150/150/50 (all +stat cap and +indiv stat scrolls).

ps. Sometimes the stat drop takes a lot of time - ie. I trained musicianship for 8 hrs to get +5 dex/-5 int

EDIT: I might have worded it wrong - you can get 125/150 in any stat, but you cannot get 125/150 in all of them at the same time.

For anyone who wants to raise dex, try this.

Get around 20 to 25 kindling and place it in your pack. (Use knife on tree)
Lock your Strength and Intelligence.
D-Click your kindling repeatedly till you get your Dex raise.
Stop.
Repeat process in 15 - 20 minutes.

This is a good way to allow you to raise a stat and still play the game without a macro running. Just go about your regular business and every 15 minutes or so, rapid fire your kindling till you get your raise.

Works best if you start at 0.0 skill in camping as you will fail most times and not consume your kindling.

This process also works for strength and intelligence, just lock the other 2.

It is the same for this shard. All stats str/dex/int can be raise to 125. After that you will need to buy/eat the +5 individual stats scroll to go to the max which is 150 for each stat. When you said that your stats is 340 total I assume that 1) you ate three +5 individual stat scrolls and applied to your str to go beyond 125 ... or 2) your stats of 138/115/87 str/dex/int is accomplished with jewelry/armour/wep.

Now... to see your real raw stat as mention by Ilsanor is be naked and look what's your individual raw (str/dex/int) stats are. If you ate a +40 stat scroll then yes... your max is 340 (all combine). I have the same max stat as you and my individual raw stats are 125/150/65 str/dex/int.

As Adrias mention, stats are like 1 gain per 15mins... sometimes it takes longer so be patient. It will eventually go up and as Cygnus mention, best way to increase any stat is training camping.

Finally, check Devlin's how to be awesome guide from the wiki.... which is by far the most complete guide in how to reach awesomeness... btw for instant bandie healing you will need 220 dex and at 215 is meh, OK but not awesome.

Arggghhh... I forgot to mention... you can also lower your str/int stats and when enough you can use the Dexterity essences/potions to increase your dex stat.
