Voting incentives

Sounds great!

Question: is there any somewhat easy way to promote the shard? I know there are a ton of voting sites out there (that's how i found UOEX!) and a shard I was on previously actually had "voting stones" setup in town that would take you to the top 5 voting sites. Naturally they gave a tiny (read: non-game breaking) incentive to use them once every 12/24 hours depending on the exact site but it def. got the word out.

I 2nd this iv been to that shard with the stones and thay on the top list, id have to say its because of the stones.. or a nother idea make it so we can buy voting stones for deco with tokens or somthing (voting wherever could be in your pack???)

the problem with this is...

if top 200 or 100 list hears you give 'gifts' to vote. they tend to frown on that sorta thing. they will even go so far as to remove the shard listing entirely (seen it happen).

the best way to promote the shard is to (as a player) give out rewards for people who vote
or
put on a video event people do tend to view those (just found out someone saw one and decided to play here) :)

not too many ways to promote a shard besides word of mouth. :(

+1 to this idea! How about some of us put together a system where some of us donate to a "vote for the shard reward fund" and hold regular player events in that vein. Doesn't have to be big prizes, just enough to get some of the younger and mid-range players a tad of incentive. "easy money"

Lagos, I really like your idea... but Anarchy got it right... We aren't able to know who voted...

aye, it is possible to be cheated, but voting is easy enough the only people who will 'cheat' are the ones who will feel clever and awesome for cheating the donors. I think we can have an honor system. =)

I personally stay within mines and home for the majority of my UO time. I would vote more if we could have an option to add a voting stone(s) to your house. If I had the stones personally available in my house it would remind me to vote more.

We have website stones that are purchasable for 1k tokens from the token stone outside trinsic bank. It will take you to our main page, and from there you can click the link to vote.
