This thread was a very good read. I am new also. I know there are a lot of veteran players on this shard, but sometimes I get so lost reading these informative posts because there are so many abbreviations used. Is there by any chance a "dictionary" of some of the more commonly used abbreviations?

Is it possible to buy gold on this shard? I am finding no end of trouble to being brand new with nothing and no money watching my two weeks run out on my incredible sword. It might not seem like much to you who are playing for a long time, but gold is very tough to get when you are a low level and you can only get monsters that average maybe if you are lucky 200 gold pieces. No I'm not really complaining as I love this shard already, just would like to get to a point where I can get more done,
another way is to hunt tram dungeons for the noble which spawn everyday 1 time. breed them and max them and sell em, do bees (sorry have to spend little money to make millions)

Wow, im finally back to the forums, and came to check out my posts and its great to see people have been using this thread for information. Again, evidence of a great shard!

Well, i have been on this shard for a whole year now, playing on and off. Ive learnt a lot of things, and am slowly getting my skills up. During this time, i have also accumulated a lot more questions. So here we go.

1) I have finally decided to use razor as I see doing everything on your own is hugely time consuming and really does nothing for your Real Time time :-). So, are there any good places on this forum to find a 'how to' guide that explains razor? I wanna take my skills up, and im really curious about what other aspects razor can do.

2) While at razor, i also have an issue. I downloaded razor as an accompaniment to 'second age' (which i have played for 10mins now - and personally, it simply doesnt cut it compared to excelsior). So, when i open razor and excelsior using this razor (shard.uoex.net, port 60) it is missing a lot of things, eg, ilshenar, tokuno etc.... How do i go about making it workable for excelsior? [[[ok, tried to follow the custom registry, but it didnt work for me]]] [[[i have also found macros online to download, but even though ive put them in my razor macro folder, they dont show up as i get into razor UOexcelsior. any hints?? thanks]]]

3) My gear is ok, but nothing compared to anyone with even 1ED. Ive done tokuno fan dancers and rune beetles, and to this point, i feel comfortable there and in trammel dungeons. however, my money gain is pathetic at best. where could i go next to maybe gain a little faster?

4) BODS: i am finally good enough to recieve large bods, but i am curious, is there a list of which type of large bods you can get somewhere on startistics or these forums, so that i can get rid of smaller bods and keep ones that could come in handy?

5) What is a good way of getting vet up? I want to start using nobles, and everytime i go to take on runebeetles, no matter what animal, it gets poisoned, and it dies... and my vet skill is at 30, and barely ever raises?

I think that is it for now. Again, thanks to everyone on this shard for their help, and for their further help. It has made the gaming side so much better since i have started.

I can respond to a couple of your questions.

1) Not sure I just messed with Razor till I figured it out. The macro recording is really easy though and everything is controlled through a hot key set in the hot key tabs.

2) I think you can download razor from this site someone just posted a Wiki update to Razor info I believe.

3) I did the exact same as you If you have a pack of Max Nobles though go to Blood or another Balron spawn and hunt Even Balrons in Bottom of Fan Dancer Dojo are good just a lot of detrious that can kill you. As Far as Healing use Repurge for poison and Touch of Life to Heal then stand behind and apply Bandies but rely on touch to keep them alive. That is what I did is a slow way but saves macroing or other boring method and I made money while I did it. (I hate gaining skill for skills sake do not have the patience) With 5 1000 hp Max Nobles they take balron except paragon so fast alot of times I would let one get beat up a some then stand and heal it while I waited for respawn. Once again someone else will have a faster way I am not a skill trainer.

4) There is some information in Wiki Especially regarding Taming BOD's and which ones go into LBOD's. Did not find a list for craft stuff. SBOD's that don't go into a large are good for picking up extra bod's as anytime you turn one in you can immediately get another.

5) I talked about in 3 but I am sure there are better people to advise on that.

*One other thing you talked about making money I got my first pack of Max Nobles and financed several of my better things by doing Taming LBOD's and turning in for Organics 5-6 animals larges give like 5k organics which is alot of money for someone like us. Of course the last 5 have given me worthless leather GRRR

Hope some of this helps a little.

See you around.

One question I have for you is have you patched your uo client with the shard specific patch? The easiest way to find out is go into Town Center and see if you see the globe spinning, if not then you need to patch your software and you can do that by clicking on the white stone next to the globe. If you are still having problems with razor pm me when I am in game, usually on the weekends and sometimes at night depending on if i can get good internet access at the hotel I am at or not and I will see what I can do to help. I have helped several other with their razor so I can't guarantee it but I will do my best. Pm Jamkul in game.

My set of answers:

1) There's a short guide on the Wiki (as there is for anything else) that should get you started. Other than that - you can ask players for pointers with specific things. You can catch me either in-game or here if you want to know something and I'm sure there others who would help too.

2) No idea here, never had razor problems.

3) Balrons, as suggested. You can't do better than that without imps or insta-heal, and besides - it's actually good money.

4) There's a utility for all things BOD in the Coding talk section of this forum. Pretty simple to use and still powerful in it's own right.

5) Raising vet is as simple as making a macro and attacking your pet. Simply heal it at the same time you damage it and your vet will rise. Experiment with the amount of damage - at higher vet you can even use a specific weapon to attack and raise your combat skills (and possibly LJ) at the same time. You can use any pet, but bonded with a lot of hp is best of course.

Also, as Dragor mentioned - use cleric spells Purge (Cure Poison - simply say [cs purge ) and Touch of Life (Healing - [cs touchoflife ) - they are better and/or cheaper than the mage spells. Best if you bind them to macros (either in-game or Razor). Next step is using EasyUO (a scripting program - more powerful than Razor, but more complicated) and getting Blazin Pet FightR (again - in the Coding Talk section) - possibly *THE* best way to keep your pets alive.

EDIT: rrright, it's Pet FigtR not HealR. But both scripts by Blaze are worth it. :)

Just a note on the Pet Healing.
I would definitely recommend using BlaZin' HealR. Is an amazing script for EUO that makes muti pet healing easy! :)

That actually would be Blazes Pet FightR. He has 2 healing script the Blaze HealR just runs in the background and heals you. The pet FightR gives you a window and you target your pets and it has buttons for all the commands, healing by bandaids or casting and even a cleric heal over time and cure option.
