Ideas; A Reason to play

Post by Nakkasu »

Questing in such a way that it stimulates activity and productivity. I was thinking while driving today and this is what came to mind and other games have success with this as well.(Re-Vamp to Current + New Stuff)

Daily Quests, Weekly Quests, Crafting Quests.

quests for plant growers, maybe a turn in for x amount of certain flowers if possible and even seeds.

Examples
Daily Quests -
Gather x amount of items to aid the civilians fighting against the umbris.

Weekly Quests-
Take part in x amount of champion spawns this week, hunt and kill x amount of paragons, other.

Crafting Quests
This could be a lot of fun, i would setup something for each craft and do a minor {daily} major{weekly} crafting quest.

Minor quests could be for each crafting type. for a carpenter it could be as simple as crafting staves that they claim will be sold on the market or making chairs for the king. Making wooden armor suits to aid against the umbris =o same goes for bowcrafting and blacksmithy. weapons armor and so on to aid our re inforcements.

Cooking could even do feed the starving children of brittania or trinsic insert other misc ppl. tinkering could be cool you could make tools for different towns. maybe the miners in minoc are running low on pickaxes and need more!

also even a quest that needs runic kits, gives you something to do with your low end hammers and more.

major craft quest
could be several high end crafted items and the sort this would be real cool.

I dont know if this exists in ex as i havent done too much searching but a bounty for hunting certain creature types.

The idea here is to get people to login and create new opportunity. I didn't word this as well as i would of liked to. A little tired however i'm going to make a post just below this with reward ideas. This would also stimulate the economy with crafts, give crafters a reason to craft, and remove some useless junk from the game and more.

Personal opinion on rewards.

for slayer quests kill x amount of something.

Bonus xp for weapons would be great too, say complete a quest to hunt certain mobs in fel. turn in reward could be x amount of weapon xp.

Whatever you would like to give but what i think would be really cool is armor enhancements or enchantments of some form to help newer gamers. something like % of lrc scroll. this scroll would put lrc on a armor pce of your choice equal to what the scrolls % is. Only able to add to non goc and non leveled equipment. If the scroll offers 10% lrc and the equipment already has 13% it would be reduced to 10%. One idea to help newer gamers getting started.

Just adjust intensity based off of difficulty. i think if you put this in it should be something like 5-10% chance to obtain the enhancement so there's a reason to repeat the quest.

Possibly even weapon enhancements as well.

for daily quests, maybe a token system? non crafting quests maybe something like another token system for different rewards? not sure what you would want to barter with here. the reward would have to be fair for someone to want to do it.

weekly quests, i think it would be reasonable to offer 1-3 ed random amounts or other rewards of your choosing.

Crafting Quests- oh so much fun and things that could be thought of.

me personally i think this would be a cool opportunity to add + Fishing / Arms Lore / Tinkering equipment. plus neat things in general. +Arms Lore & Tinkering should be on the major quest though the weekly.

Special Fishing Nets
Special Food for Temp Buffs
Possibly new explosion potions? or decorations in general.

What i think would be really awesome is crafters being able to add special intensities to weapons. However make it so you can not level the weapon after they're applied. maybe get some form of runes for your weekly quest or daily quest that adds a percent of hit lightning or hit mana leech. maybe 1% or even a larger rune. this would be nice as it would help out the newer player and stimulate the economy in new ways.

Crafting quests would be grand because there would be a lot of people gathering as they would need resources to complete quests, it would stimulate the low end economy, and so much more.

I had a lot more ideas before i got tired lol i may come back and revise this post a little later. feel free to add comments and such.

oh right the weekly would promote players to do higher level content and veterans to help out with it since they dont "need" what drops would just be there to assist.

i know some of this is in game in different ways, i guess im looking for it to be re-introduced? i mean like bods are cool but alot of the rewards are useless. re-introducing could offer ways to flip better.

a fair bit of this stuff is similar in some ways to other quests but a re-introduction and a few new quests for some of the things mentioned that doesnt exist.

oh right also, it would be cool if the quest hubs were all in one town even if the quests turned in at other towns. the hub would probably serve good in a central location in some city =p i personally love moonglow but thats me. dunno what everyone else likes. xD

hehehe Nakk, I do believe your brain was in need of something to think about while you were driving!

I have read many awesome ideas in other posts about things that could be added, enhanced and so-on....the problem is Staff having the time to do it. There is just no way 3 people (I think that is the number of the active Staff...? Mayhap 5...?) can write all of this while trying to do the other things the shard needs, not to mention ALL of it would have to go through +C - talk about swamped!

I think we need more Staff/Scriptors: intelligent, balanced people that actually care about what they do, no matter how small, like the Staff we have now  . Finding said people could be a minefield, I would imagine. :worried:

+Nyx announced yesterday evening that she has been scripting quite a few things these past many weeks and they are very soon to be implemented into the shard; as I understand it within the next few days, but I could be wrong! So, I vote let's see what's what with that and give Staff some breathing room :P !!

Rock On, Nakk...you know I luvs ya! :dance
