I think this is an interesting idea, and I always enjoy when players join our shard and want to try something different than the usual path. I'm not sure if I'm able to "lock down" a set of tinker tools that will then be usable by a player, but I'll talk it over with V and see what we can come up with.

I just tried this out one of my alt chars who has 100 in many skills like stealth, tactics and spirit speak and 50 in animal taming and 24 in animal lore. He only had 40 str, 77 dex and 67 int when he entered wearing only a cloak and normal boots. All resists were 40 and he had no aids or reagents so his 51.0 healing and 91.5 magery were of no use to him. I entered through the regular Fel entrance in stealth mode and headed sw in between the maze and water. I found 5 hinds to tame and headed off towards Delucia where I planned to home base out of. Unfortunately, my hinds never made it as they wanted to have sport with an umm and lost. I remaind hidden like a coward and pressed on without taming any more animals. Once in Delucia, I found it to have way to many umms in ther to effectively use the town as I hoped. Undaunted, I headed out the upper north gate and found 5 goats to tame and attacked an orc, but alas an orc mage chipped in and that was the end of that. Of course, I ran and hid to fight another day. Oh ya, I forgot I armed my self with a dagger. This char as 100 in fencing. This time I headed out the East gate in stealth mode and eventually found 3 Forest Ostards and 2 horses to tame. this time I came upon an Orc Lord who quickly took out my 2 horses and one Ostard, but with me chipping in he went down. Then a single orc fell prey to me and my 2 birds and I was able to retrieve a nice scimitar off of him. Unfortuntely, my last 2 birds went down on the next round of atacks but I found that I can sruvive an Orc Lord with my scimitar and lots of spirit speak to heal. Afte killing many orcs this way and seeing the same loot over and over again, I headed back to Delucia to bank my product and had to dodge an Umm who took up residence in there. I banked over 800 gold, a shovel and a candle which helped in the tunnel. I logged out but found that I could not log back in with my primary character while this one was logged out in felucca. Not sure why that is set up tha way, but I got a warning stating os. So, I had to log back on on alt char and hoof it all the way back to the brit moongate area and back to trammel. I survived day 1 but see many hurdles ahead that I am not sure can be overcome. Especially if I have to head back to trammel every day to play another character. Umms are also the other main issue. I would always have to move in stealth mode because there is no way to fend them off if spotted. The other big hurdle I see is even if I get a gargoyle pick I doubt I could ever tame enough critters that could overpower even a copper elemental. But, we will see as I am not done yet. I plan to hunt the next time just past the northwest passage from the moongate. Oh ya, one more thing. I took an empty spellcaster key with me and was able to add one SS to it. :]

Hi Nyx thanks for your reply.

In the orc caves in Felucca there are a set of tinker tools in the last set of caves near the cannon with the pitchfork sticking out of it (I believe). If you can modify their properties to match the locked down scissors outside of vesper (in the sewing building east of the bridge to the north of vesper) that would work.

Or if you had tinker tools spawn akin to the +skill daggers that spawn in newb training room and respawn when someone picks them up that would be wonderful. Ditto with shovels in the cave :)

Of course you have to actually make it alive to the cave to use them...but that's a different issue.

you guys are inspiring me to do this as well! I think it would be a good idea for the people doing this to try to team up! also, dont forget about the cleric spells, if you macro your SS to 100 (i think you can macro SS while hidden) (i know you guys are veterans of the shard im just talking out loud) you could use the gold you make very sparingly for some tithing points, maybe not use it to heal, but at least go back and forth to angel form, that would help tremendously. also you would have smite to get rid of those nasty umm's.

Dont know if your trying to avoid cleric spells as part of your journey, but it would help. I personally think it would be ok to use it as your plan, since your not aquiring anything from trammel, such as a cleric's book or anything of the sort. Perhaps it would be a good fit, a Cleric that has been banished to Felucca for disrespecting the gods! (lol?)

Once you get your taming high enough, you could ask people to help you tame the mules after the moa champs, dont breed them or anything, rather put them in the stable to bond, and after that at least you would have some sort of pet that could help your cause, even if you just stuck with 1 tamed mule as your hardcore rules apply, so you had something to ride, and help out, and double as a backpack for your crafting efforts.

if i do this ill get ahold of you guys, and maybe Nyx would let you place a small 7x7 house =] special rules to it or something, like decay, just a plot, no walls or anything, maybe not even place a house, but take one of the many very small ruins around that are all falling apart, and make the base of them your "home" to secure even a single chest, make a felucca outcast guild =]

ok im ranting now, im pumped about this idea :dance

I don't know about Vholodim's purity to this whole gameplay aspect but I see this type of playing as a major challenge even for the character I used last night which is weak but not totally helpless lieke a newborn noob. No matter if you want to use cleric spells or not, it is definitely not going to be easy no matter what you use or don't use. I would love to hear about other players attempts and what they did and what they accomplished.

The two main hurdles I still see are this, especially if you are "banished" wih little to no skills:
1. Umms
2. Not being able to log off in Felucca if you plan to play another character in Trammel.

Vholodim, just curious; does your character a complete out of the box newbie or has he trained anything up already?

Lots of good info in this thread..Cygnus thanks for checking into Vesper I hadn't thought about the bank goodies.

The Covetous tip was good too.

So I made a toon and macroed him up ... took about 4 days I think. I gm'd all the macroables and made the combat skills 75 in the newbie training area. I think I started out with 50 tinker and I forget what else for my template. I don't think a raw new character can survive at all in Felucca...the curve is too steep even for a vet.

The way I'm playing my character is someone who lives off the land. My character has been banished from the realm and is kill on sight (including healers & bankers!). The only thing I loot is what I need and can carry. If I die and can't get my body I lose everything and am naked yet again back to scratch.

Hiding and stealth is the only option for the umms...I've been thinking about taming but a horsey is useless as you can't outrun an umm and I don't use cleric spells. I use spirit speak as I need a way to heal without bandaids.

My character isn't too keen on going into dungeons as they are very dangerous. He also has no rogue skills as he was just a simple Excelsioran citizen before his spat with King Colibri :D He might learn those down the road but for now he is trying scavange what he can to stay alive.

I joust mobs alot as most I can't really stand toe to toe with. Casters I avoid completely as I have no resist (yet). Upgrades for this character are weapons with more durability.

I have to plan what I'm doing and where I'm going to hunt because distances are long when you stealth through Felucca. I only rez at shrines which I carefully note on my UOAM files (I'm KOS to healers due to my banishment).

Anyway if you ever want a change of pace from your uber rich decked out 1-hit killer toon this playstyle is alot more frustrating and edge of your seat which is a nice change of pace (for me anyway).

It would be nice to be able to log out in Felucca inns but I understand the anti champ spawn camping reason for this...just wish there was a work around as I can't refresh my houses when I'm in Felucca playing.

Peace does work but you need an instrument as either a monster drop or make one.

As I don't have tinker tools I can't make one yet and I haven't seen an instrument drop off what I've been able to kill : )

I've noticed that if I log out in fel with a character, I won't be able to log in with any others until the one in fel returns to trammel. Not sure if this is the case with anyone else but it may be in place on purpose to avoid exploiting. Just something to keep in mind.

The banker in Delucia is red and will try to kill you on sight. I don't see why you couldn't use him if you are smart. It's not a Britannian bank. I like to think of it more like the Cayman Islands banks - they see nothing and report nothing.
I've got a char that is about to "take the black". I've a bit of a strategy worked out and hopefully survive. Storage and Umms will be the main problems. I think a horse set to "guard" may be good as a sacrifice to the Umm, giving a few seconds to escape, or as a means to getting to the nearest portal or dungeon entrance to throw it off scent.
As a quick test I killed a few orcs with main char and did have a lockpick, shovel and a mortar and pestle drop. And savages gave bandages.

Edited to add later thoughts (and contain the thread):

I don't think I'll be as extreme as the OP, but follow the same philosophy.
Thinking of having my banishment manifest including a small ship for hold storage and transport.
Could RP the Bounty Mutiny kind of thing, or be evil and hope that someone leaves a ship unlocked on Marble island.
Having a ship key means that the hold can be locked. A stolen ship is an unsecured hold. If I die, I have to get back to Delucia to access the spare key, which is a gauntlet run in itself and not guaranteed.

The other thing I'll take is a Chivalry Book, and a Runebook with one rune in it. Both are "blessed".
This is just for logging off, so as I can use my main char. The banished/mutineer char is only allowed to sleep in Trammel, returning to Fel via the main entrance or a charged runebook to the "forget" cave.

I'm also thinking of taking an empty spell book, where only found spells can be used.

There are 2 bankers in Delucia The skeletal dragon is non aggressive and will allow you to bank. Best bet would be to stay outside the bank to do your business.

Also, from my last excursion, lizardmen, ratmen and trolls really don't drop anything but gold, so unless you just want to farm gold I would avoid them. Ettin's do drop potions so that is nice to have as an extra boost.

I took my banished char into Felucca for a few hours and died a few times. Most of it was either Umms, or being unable to fight one on one. I had 43 strength, and that was way too low. Killing skeletons was possible, but I did not have the strength to wear the bone armor drops. I was naked with only a dagger. I started with a completely empty bank vault, but was able to get 100 gold into my bank through stealth. This is important when you realise why the inn at Bucc's Den is my base ;)

I'm getting my stats up higher before I return, and have GM'd combat skills. It will still be a challenge without equipment, but I was a wet paper bag before. I realised the futility of having low strength when I escaped an Umm by running into Covetous, and being greeted by the two Harpies inside that I'd previously tried to battle - but ran out to escape. They were waiting at the inner door. Either way, it was death by Umm or Harpies. At 8% health, the harpies got me. Decided to turn of my char's death announcements then (and luckily Portal was not logging it !). Meanwhile, the Umm had decided to procreate with the Ankh outside, making res/hide/stealth unlikely at that Ankh. And thanks to the UOEX gods, I was able to make my way back to the Bucc's Den gate and resurrect and still have my dagger.

Trying to kill a low level monster in Fel is really hard as you have to isolate them from their neighbours. Without ranged attack, It's a huge but fun puzzle of gameplay. Still trying to work it out.

I will return with exactly the same lack of equipment (naked with a dagger), but with higher stats and skills.

Had a random thought, you CAN get tinkers tool in Fel. MOA champs sometimes drop runic tools into your pack. So, if you managed to get some pets tamed you can fight with, (the mule after an MOA) then you could start doing forget / crossroads champs and eventually marble if you are able to get a boat and with persistence you could eventually get tinker tools naturally and that 5 use kit could make more tinker tools and youre set :).

It is a nice thought but something that is on the other side of the huge mountain that would have to be climbed. The character I banished into Felucca is probably a little more advanced then some and it couldn't get past an Air Elemental. Every pet tamed dies and there is no way to breed any of them, so you have to use what you tame. No regs, no tools, no armor, no strong pets and a limited amount of skills to get you by. It is a challenging and daunting task especially for players who have taken a lot of things for granted operating in Trammel. I have yet to die but I have yet accomplished anything significant either. My next task to take the long walk to the Savage Camp so I can hopefully accumulate some bandages. That way I will not always have to rely on using Spirit Speak to heal. That is what hindered me from taking down the Air Elemental, ran out of mana so I had to go and meditate. When I came back, foul creature had fully healed. Remember, if you are going to do this right, your character is going there with no armor, one minor weapon (dagger perhaps), no pets and basically no hope.
Anyways, I would like to  challenge  everyone to try this and just find out how difficult playing this game without scripts, macros and buffs, relying on just your wits.
