Staff, please rethink Dreadhorn

Post by Cygnus »

I am a long time visitor to Twisted Weld and probably have more Sabrix's eyes then people could imagine. I continue to go there almost daily for the gold, possible drops and xp's; however I do not summon Dreadhorn as it is nothing but a waste of time. And apparently, I am not alone; as I have not seen anyone in a long time do it. I am sure someone does, but if you compare how often Dreadhorn is summoned compared to the other Peerless, it is not even close. As of now, he definitely isn't worth the time to try and get a Crimson Cinture which can be gotten on another Peerless. The Twisted Weld used to have a high volume of players going through there and now I probably count the number of players on my 2 hands that visit that area on a somewhat regualr basis. Can I suggest that we bump up Dreadhorn's drop to either add a chance at weps like Lady Mel or at least put the gold back on him? Basically, the changes made the last time turned Dreadhorn's island into a ghost town. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I agree and disagree, I think if some of the items for summoning were better drops it wouldn't be so bad, Dreadhorn can drop weapons. But gathering the items to summon can take a lot longer then any other area half of the time. The sabrix eye and the gnaws fang can somtimes take a few hrs to drop a single one. Which for the rarer drop rate it appears dreadhorn has *or just cuz u don't always get to summon him as often as others* makes it not as worth it to farm/hunt in that area for long periods of time.

Wish granted.

Twisted Weald has been modified with the following:
All mini-bosses previously modified by +Chaos have retained his 'buffs' in terms of difficulty. However, I have added more gold to them, as well as a very fair drop rate for a couple of ointments, and an additional 10% chance for their summoning items. This means you might get 2 summoning items on one kill, or you might get one or none. We'll keep an eye on the area and if it seems like it is being abused for gold and ointments like umbris and fel wrong were, we will be forced to cut these tweaks back again. But hopefully it will not be abused, and will help renew interest in this area. Colibri has given us permission to modify dreadhorn a little, but I have not yet done so. I will announce when it has been completed. :)

Looks like I was a week too early when I spent a couple hours there waiting for the "evil eye" when I went to give Dreadhorn my first try. Thanks for the changes! I'll definitely be back.

I have been throwing away gnaw tooth left and right  If I knew people needed it I would've given it away... I still have some if people are having a hard time with the drop after the update.

And now i have been there a couple of times, and the monsters that hold the summoning items are almost too hard for me even with maxed albinos and a bio :( Dreadhorn is easy though, but i wish he had some kind of a "meaning" like the GoC quest peerless do...

I ment that there could be a quest where Dreadhorn would be related to or something like that :)
