Here on Excelsior scripting via EasyUO is expressly allowed, so I really don't know that you have a leg to stand on... yes, obviously it creates tons more gold on the server than would be humanly possible without scripting. But disallowing scripting all of a sudden would turn the server on its ear. It's too much to ask for. [...]
I am not against scripts, myself i use a few: one to identify the hue color numbers, one to add up the stats of armor, one to pinpoint SOS chests, hum, i think that is all :)

I also have tons of razor macros: I even have one to automatically drag and drop the 7 books in the barrel in Citadel.

True that my wish to see scripts banned for hunting is a little bit far fetched (I have very little hope on that one), the effect that would have the fact of making the dungeons non-recall places would be huge for the economy and it would give a chance to the new players as well as to thoses prefering to actually play the game to be on a leveled field. All that without taking away the abillity to script from players who chose to do so!

Nevertheless, even if I am convinced that this has very little chance to happen, I am happy that we have this discusion here and that all types of players can share their point of view!

We generally try to stay away from genuinely "nerfing" things, particularly basic and original functions of the game, which disabling recalling into dungeons would do. However, I do have a brand new new-player starting city almost finished. When a new player logs in for the first time, this is where they will be with tutorials, vendors they need, quests, etc. They'll be able to access this place for up to 4 months from the day they join our shard. This city will also come with 4-6 young-player only dungeons fully spawned with mobs who have excellent weapon xp gains, as well as high-gold mobs like balrons. This will help give younger players somewhere to go hunt that will not be affected by older players. Further, all of the dungeons in Elysium and Touria will not allow for recalling, and will help spread the population out into new areas rather than having everyone stuck in the same old content. The answer isn't to disable recalling, or outlaw scripting, it's to give everyone more options for their own personal playstyle.

My holiday wish is that more players would think for themselves in regards to the staff, and not just jump on the bandwagon of whomever is telling them some smack about how we banned so-and-so for no reason, or billyjoebob got jailed because he said hello to us. If only.

+1 to the first paragraph.

As for the second. You know what they say, you can wish in one hand.. People are always going to cause drama for the staff. Seems like the way players say thanks for the hard work.

More hunting spots of equal loot (the important part) is great.

Balrons are good, so more spots with Balrons (or an equal mob) work great, for example.

New player town/dungeons is a good idea. Four months is a good length as well. Will older players be able to visit the town or just newbies only?

I highly doubt more balron spots will be added outside of Elysium or Touria. Since they have high gold value you want them to be contested to limit the gold entering the economy. Otherwise it just leads to inflation.

I am constantly tempted to drop chests etc when I see someone using a recall hunting script, so that I can block their landing spot.

Oh I'm in favour of recalling into dungeons. I'd just like to see more of the people doing the illegal stuff caught. :)
