Vendor Options

Post by Acacia »

The ability to place items on vendors and have a gump pop up where you type the price into is nice, it frees the worry of an accidental mistype making an item 999 gold
but what about the option to check

Item: Relayer Deed
[ ] Gold: [ ]
[x] Ed : [500]
[ ] Tokens: [ ]

So you could sell your items at a currency that you would like, rather than needing them to be posted on the forums
and relieve some spam from [c

If the forms of currency could be changed, each vendor would also have to have an exchange rate. Since the exchange rate varies on exex, it would easily be exploitable, or require a ton of extra coding to be made viable.

Why would the vendor need an exchange rate? I believe she is referring to player vendors, not NPCs. A player could only choose one type of currency for pricing. Perhaps you have a larger value item that you would discount for EDs over gold. I guess the exchange rate might apply to what the vendor charges you per day? If so, you're right. I don't know how difficult it would be to have it read Exex table or what have you. Neat idea, might be terribly difficult to execute.

The vendors would need an exchange rate, because they accrue a daily fee based on the value of the items they are selling. So, either you would have to convert it to one thing (gold), or you would over charge, or undercharge as the value of gold to ED or gold to tokens or ED to tokens fluctuated. If the price of tokens went up to 3 gold per, that would affect your vendor's daily charge unfairly, especially if you manipulated the market, or got your friends to.
