Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
Greetings hunters! Again the time has come to show appreciation for the beautiful wildlife of Excelsior...by killing it!
For the next 4 weeks, participants will be hunting the Britannian Osprey.
Killing these birds will frequently yield trophy feathers. Look on their corpses for these feathers:
They will vary depending on the osprey feather's length, the brightness of it's colors, and the overall quality of the feathers plucked. These trophies are not permanent items, but are used to calculate your total score at the end of the quest. The score ranges are as follows:
Length: 10-80 centimeters (x 1) [Example: Length of 50 = Score of 50]
Color Brightness: Bright (6), Flashy (12), Sparkling (18),Vivid (22), Vibrant (26), Glistening (32), Shimmering (38) [Example: Feathers that are Sparkling will have a brightness score of 18]
Quality: Poor (5), Low (10), Fair (15), Average (20), Above Average (25), High (30), Peerless (40) [Example: A group of feathers with an overall High quality will have a score of 30 for quality]
The objective is to find and submit the trophy with the highest score.
Total Trophy Score = Length Score + Color Score + Quality Score
Participants are allowed to submit only ONE trophy during this event, so it is to the advantage of each player to only keep their highest valued trophy and trash their lowest ones. All trophies are bound to their looter and will not be counted if this person is different from the one submitting the trophy. There is nothing against keeping a few extra trophies for decoration, but keep in mind that they are temporary and will be deleted after the completion of the quest.
The last hunting day will be February 12th and will end at 8:00am shard time. After this time, there will be a 3-day period where players can submit their trophies. On February 15th at 8:00am shard time, submissions will no longer be accepted and the results will be calculated. There will be multiple rewards for the highest scoring participants as well as a general reward for all participants. Please remember the dates and times of importance. If you are unable to log in during the 3-day period after hunting, then you will need to submit your best trophy prior to the last hunting day.
All trophies are submitted by dropping them into the chest inside the hunting cabin. You can access the cabin and the event area via the gate in Moonglow, to the west of the bank.
Please Note:
-One submission per account. Multiple submissions on one character or account will disqualify you from the event.
-When you submit your trophy, you are done with the quest. There are no redos or "I accidentally submitted the wrong trophy" excuses that will result with a resubmission.
- Any attempt to exploit this event, trade trophies or otherwise circumvent the mechanics/rules will result in disqualification for all involved.
There are also 2 non-repeatable quests in the event area, updated for 2015. Visit the town to the North of the hunting lodge to check them out. In addition, if you're lucky enough to find a Treasure Troll, you can turn the chest in to Treasure Tom in town for a special reward.
The rewards will be posted the week before closing.
Happy Hunting!

Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
is there anywhere the birds will not be?
or do we just random look in our everyday adventures?
or do we just random look in our everyday adventures?

Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
As far as i can tell it is random. Just remember your everyday adventures must take u to event area.
Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
They are located only in the event area - which looks a lot like T2A but isn't actually the T2A you would access by going through the regular portals. You need to enter the event via the event gate only.lilbear68 wrote:is there anywhere the birds will not be?

In terms of the event space, though, the birds can spawn anywhere in that area.

Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
what happens in case of a tie? and I read 3 or more times when is the winners prize to be announced? I wanna know what I am going to win lol
Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
In the event of an exact tie - we are still discussing how to handle this. We are currently leaning toward rewarding the first trophy created (read: when the trophy first existed on the shard, not when it was submitted) in the tied tier.+Veritas wrote:The rewards will be posted the week before closing.
Re: Excelsior Hunting Event - January 2015
I always enjoy these. Thanks +V. Just a thought for next time, a prize for the worst submitted trophy (i.e. lowest point score). I think it would be amusing trying to submit the smallest, plainest, poorest quality trophy in hopes of some sort of booby prize.
