EXEX

Post by Sorgon »

Is there a way to put into the exex a last minute auction anti-snipe?
What I mean is that if someone has not been in the bidding prior to say the last 5 minutes that they are blocked from bidding at the last minute. I love the exex and check it regularly and get so mad when someone that has not bidded on an item gets it the last second after some of us have been batteling for it for days =-) Just wondering if that was possible or if i need to start timing the auctions and durring the final minutes sit and keep bidding up.
If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing well.

That's what the "extend time" option is for. If the seller checks that, and for example you bid 4 minutes before the bid would expire, the bid would get extended for 5 minutes till that time, meaning for 1 minute over the initial auction end time. And if you bid the last second, that means that it would get extended for 4minutes 59 seconds.

You might want to make that mandatory, I don't see any reasons why it shouldn't be. Sniping is always unfair. I believe that on eBay the delay is even larger, like 15 minutes or more.

Or at least make it selected as a default.
