What you think is BEST WEAPON?
Hey everyone! So I am leveling my Mistvale sword but I'm looking to start leveling an aoe weapon and later on a better single target weapon. That been said, what do you guys think is the best aoe weapon to level in the game? And which you would say is the best single target weapon in the game to level? Let me know your thoughts, and thanks everyone in advance for posting.

Ok so read all the posts, and get the type of weapons that are best, so on that topic:
Is it best to get a world drop, player made, or artifact to level? They didn't mention what is best at the end.

Just level a Blaze of Death for your AE weapon. They are fairly abundant and reasonably priced. I currently have two because I am weird about leveling weapons. One is 3x50 on area hits, fire, cold and energy. I picked those three as a nice balance for using against monsters that might have higher resists to certain things. Physical area isn't so hot in my book and lots of critters are highly resistant to poisons from my experience. The other blaze will be 3x50 on fireball, lightning and harm just as soon as I get around to finishing it.
While you may find a better dropped weapon that will make a nice AE weapon the odds aren't exactly in your favor. I would just go with a Blaze.

2 more questions:
1. Do you raise hit mana leech to be able to spam whirlwind if so how much? I've read that with 25 it should be ok but some other people say it should be less than that.
2. Do you put HLD or HLA on it or does it matter?

I wouldn't add any mana leach at all. Whirlwind doesn't use a whole lot of mana to begin with. Get 120 mediation and wear all leather and/or armor with mage armor on it and you should be able to spam it without having any mana issues.
So far as I am concerned if a weapon comes with HLA great but I wouldn't ever spend any points to increase it either. HLD is handy but its not really something you should be adding to an AE whirlwind weapon. From my perspective the weapon you are trying to level is going to be used to kill large groups of fairly easy monsters. The kinds you see on the first few waves of champion spawns. Adding HLD would a waste because they are going to die in a couple of hits for the most part anyway. The added lower defense wouldn't really be of much benefit or at least not as much to you as things like 8 str and/or hp and multiple spell hits.
