Mistvale quest items..

I'm pretty sure i've been doing something wrong, but I have been running the mistvale leggings quest for 4 days, killed all 80 liches, but havent had a single crystalized ectoplasm drop. I started another quest initially, but had the same issue. No quest item drops, so i abandoned that one thinking it may have been a bug and started another, but same problem.

Are there only certain types of mobs that drop these items? or is the drop rate just extremely rare. Im sure ive killed at least 50 of just about every mob in all 5 dungeons with no luck.

Been a while i did Mistvale but if i remember well it's random for each quest item on any monster. The Quest items gathering is tedious tough... i remember not getting some of those ectoplasm or the scale, while getting all the other items. Still i fianly got trough. Keep killing and you'll get what you need.

Like Blathzar said, any monster you kill inside any of the dungeons has a chance to drop the quest item so don't think it just drops from the type of monster that the quest specifies. And they are dropping, I just finished the first 4 quests.

[claim does not grab quest items, so if you've been using that, you've been basically deleting all your quest items rather than looting them. always do [claimall or loot manually when you are questing.

Thanks for the responses. I have [claimall macroed and i never use [claim. Day 5: not a single quest item. Ive cleared 3 of the 5 dungeons several times.

Are the quest items a similar art/item to something else? meaning, would Razor confuse them for a potion or druid scroll or something? I do have a macro that cleans up my inventory and automatically moves certain things to the trash bag. Could they be getting swept up by that?

I recently started the mistvale quests myself and I have noticed that the quest items drop at random (roughly 80% chance on each mob). Once you kill all the required creatures of the quest, simply go plow through low level trash mobs until you get enough of said collectable. UOSteam's autolooter will loot them if you add them to the list, HOWEVER these items have a rapid decay rate, even in your pack. You have about one minute to add it to the quest item before they decay.
