Account recovery
Account recovery
Lost my house, and when I logged back in here recently after getting out of the hospital all my characters where gone, am I logged in the wrong account or something or is my house and account gone? My understanding is the first house on the account would not be needed to be refreshed if I misunderstood that please let me know.

Re: Account recovery
your houses decay when you dont log in within a certain time frame ( this is found on codex at uoex.net. account decay same way but with a longer time frame. all houses need to be refreshed within the listed time frame or they go poof. if you think you logged into that account within that time frame or wrong account this is a page help type deal especially if sure your account name is correct and it let you create another then account went poof. in that case go to uoex and follow directions for account recovery. dependin on what extras you had on your account (ie.. relayers, house slots, 120 scrolls, added items/weight to backpack to name a few) it may not be worth the recovery fee.

Re: Account recovery
To be clear: you don't explicitly refresh any houses. You refresh the account by logging in to any of the characters. If you log in before the houses fall, the houses don't fall regardless of whether you visit them.

Re: Account recovery
Howdy,
On other shards, houses fall unless explicitly refreshed. In some cases that means opening and closing the door. In others it means double-clicking the sign. Typically those shards have accounts which never expire but the houses drop unless refreshed.
It's different here. Accounts expire after they've been inactive for the same amount of time you've logged in and played them with a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 3 years. Houses drop with half that inactivity.
Here's the codex link you mentioned: http://www.uoex.net/codex/accounting
A player can determine the amount of time they've played with the [account command in the client.

Wil

Re: Account recovery
It used to be your primary house would not decay, when did that change?
Re: Account recovery
It's never been that way that I can remember.artherily wrote:It used to be your primary house would not decay, when did that change?
Re: Account recovery
it was a couple of years ago, not sure when it changed but is there anything I can do to get my stuff recovered everything I had worked for the past few years was in that house.
Re: Account recovery
The house drop rules changed a couple years ago( http://uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6 ... 240#p55329 ), but we never preserved a house indefinitely. You had to log in regularly to keep your house(s).artherily wrote:it was a couple of years ago, not sure when it changed but is there anything I can do to get my stuff recovered everything I had worked for the past few years was in that house.
Submit an in game help request, and include as much information as you possibly can. account name, character name(s), approximately the last time you logged in, etc
We can recover some things, for a fee, but your house items are gone if the house has fallen.
Recovery details here: http://uoex.net/codex/services/recovery
Re: Account recovery
So if I've been on multiple military deployments overseas, gotten married, had a kid, and decided to try to waste the 69 free sec I get in a day on Uo.... would my account be recoverable if it was tagged as military service long term storage? And if not can I find my donations slips and maybe work out a deal? Please email responses to r.troxel@yahoo.com

Re: Account recovery
I too had to do an account recovery after a deployment (16 months) and it has to be coordinated with +C. You log and make a new account (I used the same name and password) then send in a help request. You may eventually need to send an Email from your global .mil account as verification but, you will have to wait for direction from +C.
It takes a good bit of time and you will not get your full account back (some items are legit gone can't be recovered) expect whatever was in your bank, in the stable, in Exex and what was in your backpack/you were wearing as well all your skills and used Power scrolls or stat scrolls to be restored. however, your house and anything that was in there is gone for good, as are extra toons, I only got one toon carried over. everything will pretty much be just added to your new toon or account so pick a name you want (i was Nick I am now Nick of Old.) also, for some reason (if you have any relayers on the old account) you will need to Die and resubmit a help request to have +C fix something so you can re-equip them as they are still account bound in your backpack to the old account and they just sit there and you cannot move them or equip them untill he does his magic.
It is +C's decision on if he does an account restore for someone (he is the only one who can do it or make the call) and it is also his decision on if there will be a 500 ED (i think that is the amount) charge or if because of military necessity led to the time away he forgoes that fee (just being military isn't justification, it has to have been a legit reason I believe)
This is all just my opinion/experience and the policy may have changed or process be different now I do not speak for the shard or the GMs.
I will say welcome back to the shard hope to see you out there if you see Nick of old in the game make an Army joke at my expense.

Re: Account recovery
The thing that got me, was Having to rebuy all my 120 powerscroll to bring my char back up to 120 skill. Even though it showed 120 Skill (lets say Archery) and I click on skill in Paperdoll it show 100 skill lvl. when I eat the scroll it shows 120 skill lvl.
And I miss my other chars I had on my account.
That's just my 2 gold pieces.
