March Fishing Contest
Time Frame: March 1st - March 31st

Only 6 Fish per person will be used for this contest. Your BEST Catch will be tallied and weighed for the TOP PRIZES above. Up to 5 others will be placed in a chest and pulled at random for the prizes below. If you have already dropped 6 fish, and you get a new personal best, you are welcome to drop that one, and it will replace your current BEST fish.

Rules-
Catch the largest "A Big Fish" and reel in some easy EDs!
Only "A Big Fish" caught during the Month of March will qualify. You can submit more than 1 fish, but only the largest will be considered your entry. Only 1 fish per player will be considered. Though, if you have multiple character on the same account, each character can have their own submission.

When "A Big Fish" is caught, it is automatically stamped with the name of the Player, The Number of Stones it weighs, and the Date and Time it was caught.
It will be this information that will be used to determine the winner.

The winner will be the player that catches the Largest (Based on the Stone Weight) fish during the time frame.
If two players submit a fish that has the same exact Stone Weight, the fish caught FIRST (Based on the Date and Time Stamp) will be the tie breaker.

So the sooner you get out there and get fishing, the more likely you are to win in the case of a tie.

An Inbox will be placed on the steps of my home, to submit your entry.

You can either hold your best catch til near the end of the contest, and submit just the one fish for weigh in. Or... As you get "A Big Fish" you can can drop it in the INBOX.
If I see more than one fish submitted by the same player name, I will only keep the largest of the two, or in the case of both fish being the same weight, the one kept will be the one caught earliest in the month.


Any Fish submitted that was caught BEFORE March 1st of this year, or AFTER March 31st of this year, will be deleted.
After the contest has ended, I will tally all entries, and post a listing of all entries, weight, date and time. And declare the winners.
After which the winners can contact me, to collect their winnings.

SIDE NOTE: If any player (or GM) wishes to help sweeten the Prize Pool, please PM me and let me know.
If this event is successful, I will happily do it more often.

I have already begun to see Fishing Submissions. In less than 24 hours of announceing this contest I have already had several entries dropped in my INBOX. And have received multiple PMs thanking me for bringing back this Fan Favorite Contest.

Remember if you submit more than 1 "BIG FISH". But only the largest fish will be used when determining the winner. So feel free to drop any fish you think is your biggest in the INBOX. I will happily keep track of which is your BEST submission.


My hope is to bring life back to one of my favorite pass times in this game. And maybe if we all chip in and make this contest a huge success, the powers that be (i.e. +Colibi) will make a note of it, and add some much needed additional content to this often overlooked aspect of the game.


Keep those submissions coming. And remember two things.
1) There is still PLENTY of time to work up your fishing skill to get a decent BIG FISH to enter with. Big Fish are a random 'drop' when fishing in DEEP WATER, with over 75% fishing skill.

2) In the case of a tie, the fish caught earliest (based on date and time) will be the tie breaker. So it is a good idea to get that big fish caught as quickly as possible, to increase your chances of winning in the case of a tie.

Here is another good tip for the potential anglers.

A fishing pole made from PURPLEHEART wood, has a 10% increased fishing speed bonus.

This will give your a far greater rate of fishing attempts per hour, and therefore a higher chance of getting a BIG FISH.

REMEMBER: Fishing AFK is NOT ALLOWED. Please respect the rules, and only fish when attentive at the keyboard. You WILL be subjected to random AFK checks.

I am quite certain this contest in no way changed the codex of the game as to when, or how boat decay.

YES. If you wish to have your fish back after the contest, it will give you the option when I hand out prizes, and will PM and set-up a meeting for those that want their fish back, that did not win a prize.
