World is black, please help!

Hi. I would really like to play on your shard as it sounds great, but when I connect the whole world is black. I cannot move or do anything at all except chat. I downloaded the configured bundle you guys have on the main website and that did not work. Anyone know whats wrong?

Best thing to try first is a complete reinstall from the ground up. Then, go into the folder and d-click one of the two .reg files to update your registry, just to be safe. If you installed the custom client to the folder of it's choice, the .reg files should be located (C:\Program Files\Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard\RAZOR HOWTO).

Controlled Chaos made a pretty good suggestion. If you have a non-compatible client, and you open razor, it will open the existing non-compatible client, and not the one you downloaded here.

How about, going to c:\program files\excelsior freeshard\ and just doubleclick the client.exe? Did you try that? Because if that's how you're trying to come into the world, and it doesnt work, then i dont really know what you could do to aid the situation, maybe just a re-download and a reinstall.

I tried all of that. Fresh download, fresh install, running the .reg file. I am not using razor. Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my original post. I can see the client, meaning the paperdoll, inventory, etc. just cannot see the game world. My player is just in a black space. I can turn but I don't move.

Oh! shoot i know why

Was a bug with saving the location where a new character appears. I've moved you to the town center now.

Fixed this for now, if it appears again just use Paperdoll -> Help -> Help i'm stuck.
