Open a Locked Chest in my house

I have a Chest in my house that has Treasure maps. Problem is I can't pull the maps out, I get a message "You can't pick that up"

That means you locked it down instead of securing it. say "I wish to release this" and target the chest. Then re-place it down and select Secure instead of lock down
