Help with Orion Scavanger/Auto looter
Help with Orion Scavanger/Auto looter
I was asked by +C to optimize my "Lift and Drop Macro". I assume that means the auto looter or Scavenger feature. Anyone know what I should adjust to minimize any lag on the server? I didn't realize I was the potential cause. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Re: Help with Orion Scavanger/Auto looter
Having it loot the items faster would be nice hehe. Not sure that would help the server tho.
Re: Help with Orion Scavanger/Auto looter
I think the scavenger trying to pick up other peoples gold piles on champs prob sends a ton of hits back to server. Maybe if it can see that the gold pile is for someone else so it doesnt try to pick it up 900 times before it gets to your own piles?
Re: Help with Orion Scavanger/Auto looter
You may be on to something here. I think it is the scavenger feature. It runs all the time regardless if there is anything to pick up. That is probably impacting the server.

You can create Find Lists to specify item graphics.
Go to Lists -> Find -> New and add items you want to move, like Gold.
Creating New List may need Orion restart, so copying old list and modifying it is better way.
Navigate to the Agents tab.
Create a new Scavenger.
Choose the list containing your selected items.
Start the Scavenger.
Now your Scavenger has stopped its sneaky attempts to snag weeds or your best friend's mithril box from their house. Mine used to have a thing for mithril, gold, and all the shiny stuff, and that hasn't changed!
This can also be used for Auto Loot and Organizer, ensuring they move only the items you've chosen.

That is what I have set up but evidently the scavenger feature must be hitting the server frequently enough to get eh attention of +C. I now have to keep it off and run it when I need it only. Is there a setting that slows down the frequency?HotMale wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 9:29 pmYou can create Find Lists to specify item graphics.

When you use Scavenger it searches the client's memory (not the server) for the specified items. This is a local operation and doesn't require any communication with the game server. The client essentially scans its own memory to find the items that match the criteria you've specified.Alibaster wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2024 11:34 pmThat is what I have set up but evidently the scavenger feature must be hitting the server frequently enough to get eh attention of +C. when you try to interact with the item, such as moving it that's when the client communicates with the game server.
If you're not continuously triggering system messages like 'That is too far away,' you're just heating up your own CPU. ;p

Can anyone share the best distance settings and stuff so we can try and stop this from happening?HotMale wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 12:05 amWhen you use Scavenger it searches the client's memory (not the server) for the specified items.
