Re: Anyone?
I would say, its forcing the game size, try to make it bit smaller to reduce black spots.

Never mind the black voids, I am still drooling over your character stats. Looking like a demi-god over there

It's definitely from forcing the client size to be larger. The max I've been able to resize it to without getting those black tearing effects is 1200w x 900h
I really wish I could force that size, then scale that window larger. The increase in monitor resolution/DPI has not been kind to the UO client, lol.

It's not just window size. I get tears like that even at 1000x700.
It's synchronization issue. You move. The client displays the move and sends it to the server. The server acknowledges the move and sends any information the client needs to finish it.
Except it doesn't actually happen like that, because you move again before the server has responded. And maybe again. Sometimes when the server falls behind, the client gets confused about what it should display on the incoming line, so it displays black boxes. Then, when the information comes in from the server, the client has already moved on so it doesn't update the information. Thus you end up with a line of black boxes until you tell the client to do a refresh.
It's basically a software bug. AFAIK, Orion doesn't have the problem. And of course, the ancient native client will never be updated with a fix.

Thanks, I do pretty well but trust me when I tell you... I'm not done. There are quite a few people with higher stats than ISigor Crawley wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 1:09 amNever mind the black voids, I am still drooling over your character stats. Looking like a demi-god over there![]()
