Having issues getting Runic Blacksmithing / Fletching Tools

I understand that they require the completion of BODS, however I never seem to get them as a reward.
Are there specific BODS that I need to look out for to get Runic Tools? If so, which ones are they?

The wiki guide is very good for Fletching. If all else fails, elementals drop a tool with 5 uses

Gargoyle tools will give a resource one level higher than what usually can be gathered and can spawn elementals. For example if you are mining at a spot that has a chance to give electrum with a gargoyle pickaxe, you will get platinum instead and each use has a chance to spawn a platinum elemental.

These elementals drop 5 use runic tools and it's usually the easiest way to farm them. Ore elementals drop smith hammers or tinker tools, wood elementals drop fletching tools, leather elementals drop sewing kits. Runic saws from carpentry are only available through BODs. Elementals do hit very hard especially the higher tier ones.

If you want to get tools through crafting, like Zalia said there are tables for rewards on the wiki. I'd suggest making multiple crafting alts so you can request multiple BODs every couple hours. The BOD request cooldown also resets when you turn in a BOD so save easy to complete ones that you can fill and turn in to reset timer. GL!

As said before farming elementals with gargoyle tools is your best shot. but you will get killed a lot. Take pets and even a friend to res you or stay close to cities and healers. Dont carry insured items or you will lose money each time you die............or fully geared with insta heal you can fight them except platinum ones. Those hit for about 200+ damage.

At certain level 200HP is not deadly ..
When I am skinning dragons with Gargoyle Knife I use "Enemy of one" and "Counterattack" (from bushido) . to "react faster" at elemental.
Then it is run and shoot .. and another corpse to skin.

mining - that is harder because one need to use tool in hands.

The highest tier elementals are almost guaranteed one-shots. They also spawn on top of you and will hit you the moment they spawn, so you can't like, run and cut or cut from max distance, etc.

I pretty much just dismount and summon 5 mirror images (ninjutsu) and activate Confidence (bushido) and pray.

Note that the ones in Fel do hit harder, so this may be more of a problem for using Gargoyle Knife than the other tools. The ones in trammel don't quite one-shot, but they still hurt.

When mining you do not need to hold the tool at all you can double click it in your back pack whilst having bow and shield equipped
