The Travesty incident....

Post by Tigerstorm »

Today, as most others, i decide to go hunt a peerless.

Look in my chest, find a pack of 3 travesty keys I bought at Zento for 70k. (Sometimes just too lazy to far them)
I rush down, use my keys and...

Someone is there already fighting it...

Although we remain all cool about it, I just hide and let the persons that were there first
finish there job, then just recalled out and got to a nice little agreement.. :P

The same also happened to me at Blighted grove and Sanctuary, even Bedlam...

OK, reason of post.

Would it be hard to put a script or code or whatever to tell us something in the veins of :

" Someone is already in there, do you wish really to go in ? "

Would maybe be possible even to make some "checkpoints" (Entrance to the branch Lady Mel is on, hole leeding to Netopir, altar leading to travesty and such..), popping out that question...

The new rules of Doom didnt bother me at all, cause true you go there for artifacts, but if say, 5 people get to Lady Mel, can be a bit of discussion who gets bark, who gets parrot etc....

Anyone agrees there should be SOME KIND of indication that someone is fighting "x" boss ??

Aye, call it a coincidence, but it happened to me at that very same summoning of Travesty as well - and I wasn't with Tiger, but came in later.
I mean, maybe there's not so much trouble when it comes to Lady Melisande or the Mounstrous Interred Grizzle, which allows you to come and go freely from their palces. But monters that got to be summoned through keys (Travesty, Dreadhorn, Shimmering Effusion and Paroxymous) or even Netopir(because you can't go back to the dungeon, having to recall all the way back to Tram), well, those surely could use a warning - especially with the growing numbers on the shard, and the probability that they get done a lot more each day.

Edited: Gotta say Colibri is aware of the issue already, as I pmed him about it. Said he's gonna take a look at it.

This happened to me and llexa , doing chain dreadhorns i had about 6 sets of keys , we where there killed him twice i ran out to sumon him again droped client came back dead, llexa came to res someone else crept past us and summoned him, we didnt see this we go summon again and look someones there fighting our dreadhorn, turns out 1 set of keys (the second) just teleported us and didnt spawn a dreadhorn, so we let them have the dreadhorn and ate the loss, small argument broke out and staff member solomon was paged to settle the dispute from the other party they felt we had a slight attitude about the whole deal.

Yes, I would definitely like to see some kind of coding in place that would prevent teleportation to a boss area if someone is already there fighting a summoned boss (Dread Horn, Travesty, Shimmering Effusion, Chief Paroxysmus). Please, please please!!

This has happened to me on numerous occasions, both being the one losing the set of keys and also being the one who was fighting a summoned boss when someone else came in. Now, gathering another set of Travesty keys is pretty easy, but gathering DH keys takes much longer (*kicks Lady Sabrix*), and gathering Shimmering keys can be difficult and gathering Chief Paroxy keys seems to take the longest. With the growing numbers on the shard, this will most likely become more of an issue. While I have "eaten" several keys and just taken the loss, it's still disappointing and somewhat frustrating to summon a boss and find someone already there. Now, most people I've run into have been polite about it, (thanks, Black, for offering your Effusion 8) ) but some have been rude. Asking in chat if someone is in there is hardly a solution as chat is hard to follow when you've got vet spam ("you begin to apply the bandage. You finish applying the bandage" every few seconds) on your screen.

As for Lady Mel or Grizzle or Netopir, I do agree that it would be nice to see some signal that someone is already there. But, to me, that's less of an issue as LM and Grizzle respawn pretty fast, and people can just take turns. As for Netopir, there is a way back into the Sanctuary without going all the way to Tram. If you haven't figured it out, Bubba, I'd be happy to show you. Now, if anyone knows how to get out of Paroxy without going all the way back to Tram, please show me.

And Tiger, you're welcome for the set of keys. I hope you got some good stuff! :dance

Happened to me also at paroxysmus. The way the island is seperated its not possible to see if someone is fighting the boss. Used my keys andsaw bolo who was finishing to kill the boss.

Natilla, that way out only opens if he's killed. You can't use it to get back into the dungeon if he's already dead when you get there.

And Grizzle and Netopir have the same spawn timer.

in palace of parox its the only place that has a 1 way ticket to brit in the moongate top of stairs in the boss arena, so my suggestion when you get ready to do him make sure its the lsat thing your going for, if your wnting to do him more than once *(multiple sets of keys)* yull just have to live with running All the way thru fel and t2a to get back and then stealthing or runing like the muffin man thru the dungeon too

I have today added a sign system for the Travesty concern. When one enters the summoning chamber, you will see a sign that will either be red or green. There will be a message as you hover over the sign to give you some warning about the approaching room before you use your keys.
