Need help with weapons pricing

Post by Thorgal »

How should prices be calculated?
-I was thinking on using the leveling cost points to get an idea of how many starting pts there are on a weapon, then calculate based on that number! what do you think?

Also, i have been giving so many different opinions of what is a good attribute to have on a weapon that it seems like almost everything is good!

-Good to have;
Hit Lightning, Hit Fireball, Hit Magic Arrow, HML, HSL,

-Average;
DI, SSI, HCI, DCI, HLA, HLD, HLL

-Not so good;
Hit Harm,

-Crap, not usefull;
Hit Dispel,

What about SC? Luck? Resists? Area Damage? Anything missing? Is all of this pretty accurate?

Let me know what you think. And if something is wrong i would like an explanation, not just a <not good>! :)

Thank you for all the help

not exactly sure why you value HLL less than HSL. HSL is not that great when you can just use divine fury to get 100% stamina.

But the problem is, people generally value different stats differently (look i just said HSL is not that great!) and so it's pretty difficult to accurately price weapons. I made a bunch of weapons and most of them I think are just horrible (so I just throw a couple in the newbie bins now and then) but some other person might really want it. Even on my vendor I have trouble selling weapons which I thought were decent for much less than I have seen similar weapons on other peoples vendors.

Also, since you didn't mention it, anything with mage weapon should be recycled :)

This is what i was told; HLL versus HSL, stamina leach would be better since it will lower their swing speed and ammount of damage delt on to you, so i guess this is purely a defensive preference! I tend not to play too defensively since i have almost 220 dex with 120 healing, but this is my reality, not everyone elses!

Why should SC weapons be recycled? i would rather have SC already on a bow so i dont have to spend 100 ed for a sc deed! Or am i missing something?

I am starting to think there will never be a accurate or balanced pricing system due to the possibilty of having insta heal, relayers and such...
When pricing i try to think globaly. What is needed, and mostly, who's more likely to buy a crafted weapon, cause if you have lots of gold you will want a looted 4x58 or some rare arty, not a crafted one!

Still... i personnaly would prefer having a raw damage weapon vs a more defensive one.

I also forgot to ask about RPD, how would you rate this attribute?

Personally, I would say HLL and HSL are equal in the 'not as important' category - they're mainly sought after as human bio weapons. 100% life leech can be gained through Vampiric Embrace (though this leech stacks with the weapon's one) and Stamina loss can be regained by casting Divine Fury, as Adrias said.

Btw she said Mage Weapon (gives you GM skill in the weapon's type at the expense of Magery skill), not Spell Channeling. Though if you ask me, I prefer weapons to not have SC (or Self Repair) since thats a property which can be added via EDs.

Edit: As for RPD, I'd put that in the middle category. It's not hard to get through leveling (but is great if you're planning to relayer the weapon into armor, or use it on a bio). Harm should also be with it, its great to have in melee but not so good with ranged weapons. BTW when it comes to the weapon's leeches, they don't really sap the points from your oppenent, they just give you points based on the damage dealt (Wraith Form actually steals the mana from them, making the spell useless against monsters without a mana pool). Sorry about the excessive parenthesis. :mrgreen:

Where did you learn all of this, is there a guide somewhere on all the specifics of attributes?
What about resists and damage increase.

So what would a perfect crafted weapon have for attributes on it?

So many questions ^^ Srry about that :(

first and foremost. blaze is a uo guru. i think it comes from reading EVERYTHING ever posted on the net. who knows. but crafted items. hm.. hit lightning is a plus, so is mana leech. two big pluses!! life leech isn't really necessary because of vamp embrace. hit stamina leech isn't a big thing with divine fury. hit lightning and hit fireball and hit mana leech (for specials) is normally a must. spell channeling isn't a big thing because of a dress macro you could set up. swing speed increase is very nice---faster shooter. any character stat increase is also nice minus mana or intel (mage quest items will take care of that). price wise i would say... 50k for hit lightning or hit fireball, 50k for hit mana. all three 150k. it's relatively cheap for most peeps to afford, and if you can make a few dozen you could make a good fortune. now mind you this is only if you hit the mid to high 40's in theses areas.

for a bio. hit life leech, RPD, hit lightning, hit fireball, and hit stamina is a good combo. only with spell channeling. i would suggest 50k each effect and only if they are in the high 40's. remember.... you only get 295 points total to add to a crafted weapon. 495 for a looted item; when leveling them. so the higher those attributes are the better. still wouldn't really change the price of the weapon, because i wouldn't sell anything less than that.

what i don't understand is: let's say you have vamp embrace going 100% hit life leech and you have hit life leech 100% weapon. do you get double the damage you do to the enemy? or is it just never fail?

hit dispel is really nice when going against lady mel. kills satyrs pretty good, and dark father summons, and anything that summons monsters to their aid. oh and rotting corpse

hope this helps a little bit when it comes to pricing. :)

crafted weapons are never made with int/mana/str/hp/dex/stam. Have to add those with leveling

as for leeching:
http://www.uoguide.com/Hit_Life_Leech

pretty much: if you have 100% life leech you will leech between 0 and (damage done * 0.4)
For vampiric embrace it will leech between 0 and (damage done * 0.2)

having both active increases the amount of life you will get (likely adds the two, but i am not positive)

Lets hear what would be a perfect bow for you guys (5x50% + some passives) and why would you choose those attributes.

I would like to have something like ...

Hit Mana Leech 50%
Hit Lower defense 50%
Hit Lighting 50%
Hit Fireball 50%
Hit Magic Arrow 50% (what do you think about that, not enought damage add?)

I found out hit dispell not to be a complete waste, for instance, it can dispel those satyrs at Lady Mell pretty good ;)

Don't forget SR5. At those events especially can be brutal. I used 125pts of durability in last night's event with the coffee dragons.
